Welcome to the IOMNJ blog!

I'm writing this first blog post on the eve of my first Open Day at Grenaby Studios!

It's the weekend of the Isle of Man Art Festival and I'll be opening up the studio to greet anyone who wants to take a look at the Isle of Man Nature Journal artwork and learn more about the project.

Grenaby Studios is the base for the IOMNJ and the setting is perfect for a project focused on immersing yourself in nature. Situated just outside of Ballabeg in the south of the Isle of Man, Grenaby means 'green place' in old Norse and the studios have been created in what were once a farmhouse and its associated buildings. The IOMNJ studio is one of two 'pods', which are beautiful wooden structures sited among the other studio buildings.

Each week, I aim to bring you more news from the Isle of Man Nature Journal as we explore, sketch and share findings from this beautiful island in the Irish Sea.

The next post will feature photos of the open day and journalling work in progress.

Happy exploring!

Emma
